U.S. researchers have created the worlds first “synthetic life,” a strain of bacteria created with man-made DNA.”This is the first self-replicating cell weve had on the planet whose parent is a computer,” team leader Craig Venter of the J. Craig Venter Institute in Rockville, Md., told USA TODAYs Dan Vergano. Venter has been a leader in human genome mapping as well as synthetic biology.The breakthrough is “a defining moment in the history of biology and biotechnology,” Mark Bedau, a philosopher at Reed College and editor of the journal Artificial Life, toldScience magazine.

Singer: For example the question of the public's relationship to war. The drone war is documented, downloaded, accessible for everyone. You can see the videos on YouTube. It's turning war for some into a form of entertainment. The soldiers call that “war porn.” We can see more but experience less.

Hiking with Five Fingers and Yogi
Took the Yogmonster hiking this morning. Was looking for something close to the house and heavily forested and since I need to get things done, a short hike too. Also needed a dog friendly hike. After a few minutes of searching I found the Ceran Saint Vrain Trail. The trail follows the St. Vrain river as it winds through the forest. For a better discription check protrails.
Getting there. Protrails listed the GPS Coordinates. I punched them into my Garmin nüvi 205
